Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL – What are the differences between the two latest Google phones? Here is a comparison between features and price of the two smartphones to be released in India.
“We have designed the best software and the best hardware ever built,” was the phrase with which Rick Osterloh, head of the hardware division of Google officially unveiled their new smartphone. The key characteristics will be system-on-a-chip advanced and great attention to the aesthetics.
Google Pixel is a smartphone with a 5 “display and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, comes with Android 7.1 Nougat operating system. The processor is a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 Quad-Core (2 × 2 × 2.15 GHz and 1.6 GHz) supported by 4 GB of RAM and internal storage of 32 or 128 GB, non expandable via microSD. Google Pixel is equipped with 8.0 MP front camera (f / 2.0) and 12.3 MP (f / 2.0); The battery has a capacity of 2770 mAh. Google Pixel also has IP53 certification, which is durable against dust and water splashes.
Google Pixel wants to be easier to use than any other phone on the market but has been careful with its design by providing polished, easy to grip and sturdy exterior. Pixel is the first mobile with Google assistant. It relies on a camera that promises great photos, including cloud storage and supports Daydream, Google’s virtual reality system.
The camera is clearly the most widely used mobile feature. Pixel chooses the best photo of a burst, automatically handles exposure of images effortlessly. Buyers of these phones will have unlimited storage of high-definition pictures, without loss of quality.
Battery up to seven hours of use with only 15 minutes of charging was highlighted. Nougat, the operating system of these pixels, will have intelligent updates, will not be charged while in use and installed when the mobile is at rest.
The attack on the iPhone was direct and they even have a program to switch from iOS to Android by importing contacts, music, files and applications.
The phones come in two sizes, 5 and 5.5 inches and “quite black” color only. The camera is 12 megapixels. In India, the price of Pixel is given below.

Google vs Google Pixel XL – Which one should you buy?
What are the differences between the two new Google smartphones? Unlike Samsung and Apple , Google chose to launch two very similar devices to each other. In fact, as we can see by comparing the specs of the Pixel and Pixel XL, the only substantial difference relates to the display.
In fact, while the Google Pixel has an 5″ AMOLED display, the Pixel XL has a larger 5.5” display. This inevitably affects the size of the smartphone , as we can see below:
- Google Pixel : 143.8 x 69.5 x 8.6 mm, 143 grams
- Google Pixel XL : 154.7 x 75.7 x 8.6 mm, 168 grams
The difference, however, is not only in the size of the display, but also in quality . In fact, the Google Pixel has a Full HD resolution, while the Pixel XL has Quad HD 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. Both screens are protected by a Gorilla Glass 4.
Having a larger display on Google Pixel XL needs a battery with a larger capacity than that of the Pixel (3450 mAh compared to 2770 mAh of the base model), but the features of the devices are almost the same. No difference in performance, because both Google smartphone have a Soc Snapdragon 821 processor with 4Gb of Ram. Even the cameras with 12.3 Megapixel (back) and 8 Megapixel (front) are not different.
Which one should you buy? In this case, much will depend on your preferences. In fact, there are those who love the smartphone with a large display for watching movies and pictures while others prefer those with the smaller size because they are much more comfortable to carry.
In the first case, therefore, we recommend you purchase the Google Pixel XL that offers a higher resolution image. If you prefer a smartphone that is “comfortable” and are willing to give up better performance of the display, go for the Pixel Google smartphone.
