Install Android 7.1 Nougat on Galaxy S4 (LTE I9505) via AOSP ROM [Tutorial]
Today we will learn how to install Android 7.1 Nougat on Galaxy S4 LTE I9505 via AOSP ROM. Since Samsung is not going to update this smartphone, it makes sense to use the AOSP ROM. Conversely the unofficial developers never stop releasing new ROMs for this device.
By installing the AOSP ROM, you will be able to install the base version of the latest Android 7.1 Nougat update on your Galaxy S4 LTE I9505.
Once you install the AOSP ROM on your device, you can enjoy the latest features Android 7.1 Nougat has to offer – a revamped user interface, new feature for saving data, the Doze power saving technology and much more.
I warn you that this is not an official update for Samsung. I suggest you make a full backup before installing this ROM on your device. Before installing this ROM, you must ROOT your device and install a custom recovery. Currently, the only way to update this great flagship device is to install a custom ROM, let’s see how.

Step 1 First thing to do before proceeding with the guide is to install USB drivers of your device on PC. Otherwise your smartphone will not be recognized by the computer and can not read it. Download the official USB drivers from here and install them.
Step 2 Once the drivers are installed, you have to enable USB debugging on your smartphone, to make sure that the PC can read the internal memory of your phone.
Step 3 Now some devices may need to unlock the OEM. Follow this guide for unlocking OEM.
Step 4 Now you need to make full backup of your device. This can be done in several ways. A Nandroid backup is preferred if you have installed a custom recovery. If you don’t know how to do it, follow this guide.
Step 5 You need to have full root permissions to install AOSP ROM.
Step 6 Install a custom recovery, because the stock does not meet our requirements.
Step 7 Simply download AOSP ROM and Gapps from the download section above. If you want, you can download it all directly from your smartphone. Otherwise once you download the files to your PC, copy them to the internal memory of your device. “Download” folder is preferred as it is easy to remember.
