Full List of Phones Getting Android 7.0 Nougat Update – Will Your Phone Get it?

Android 7.0 Nougat is the official name of the latest version of Android. Gradually, manufacturers announced devices that will receive the update to this version of the OS to be launched in its final version in October or November. We will unveil the list of all eligible smartphones and tablets for this update.

Google (Official)

Unsurprisingly, Nexus products are the first to enjoy the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update. They will be followed closely by Nexus in 2015 on which it is already possible to install the developer preview of Android 7.0. Nexus and Nexus 5X 6P one received the update Monday, August 22. The Nexus 6 is just beginning to receive it.

  • Nexus 6P
  • Nexus 5X
  • Pixel C
  • Nexus 6
  • Nexus 9
  • Nexus Player
  • Android One

By the end of the year, the eligible Nexus Android 7.1 will become available as developers preview. The final update will then be distributed early next year. Note, however, that this will be a lightweight version because some features remain reserved for Google Pixel and Pixel XL and announced in early October.

HTC (Official)

The Taiwanese manufacturer is one of the few to have given a list of products that will receive the update in question up, if you have one of these three products, you are assured to enjoy Android Nougat. But HTC could announce more soon.

  • HTC 10
  • HTC One M9
  • HTC One A9

As always, it is the high-end products that receive the latest updates. However, Samsung won’t receive them as quickly as the Nexus but a few weeks or months after the official launch of Android 7.0.

  • Galaxy Note 7
  • Galaxy S7
  • Galaxy S7 Edge
  • Galaxy Note 5
  • Galaxy S6
  • Galaxy S6 Edge
  • Galaxy S6 Edge+

The Korean company is one of the manufacturers that offer updates shortly after their official announcement, at least for their high end devices. Without going too far, here are two products that are likely to receive the latest Nougat update:

  • LG G5
  • LG G4
  • LG V10

And do not forget that LG will release the LG V20 early September which will be based on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Sony (Official)

Sony is one of the manufacturers offering Android updates for its most high-end products. Here’s the official list of eligible smartphones and tablets. The latest released products will get 7.0 first, of course.

Lenovo Motorola (Official)

One of the strengths of Motorola smartphones is its software interface is very similar to stock Android. This allows them to be quickly offer the latest versions of Android as there are fewer changes to be made as compared to their competitors. Motorola chose not to ruin its reputation and is offering Android 7.0 Nougat on its latest models.

  • Moto Z (fourth quarter 2016)
  • Moto Z Play (fourth quarter 2016)
  • Moto Z Force (fourth quarter 2016)
  • Moto G4 (fourth quarter 2016)
  • Moto G4 Plus (fourth quarter 2016)
  • Moto X Force
  • Moto X Style
  • Moto X Play

Note, however, that some models like the Moto G 2015 will not be updated, as the Moto E3 Power released last July.

Again, the latest products are served first. Rolling out updates in a timely manner has become a strategic issue for manufacturers that know very well that this is a point on which consumers are unwilling to compromise.

  • Huawei P9
  • Huawei P9 More
  • Huawei P9 Lite
  • Huawei Mate 8

The Chinese brand is not the fastest to deliver Android updates. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow version took a lot of time to arrive at some its devices, so we’ll see if Xiaomi will do better with Android 7.0 Nougat. We focus on the lastest premium products initially:

  • Xiaomi Mi Max
  • Xiaomi Mi 5
  • Xiaomi Mi 4i
  • Xiaomi Mi Note

The EMUI interface is quite rich in customization and adapts a new version of Android. The latest smartphones marketed by the brand have their chance to update to Android Nougat.

  • Honor 7
  • Honor 7 Premium
  • 5X Honor
  • Honor 5C

Finally we must not forget the newcomer OnePlus. This manufacturer has been slow to offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow on its older models. So, without doubt, they will be more responsive this year. Unfortunately it may be that the OnePlus One and OnePlus X do not receive this update. These devices will likely get the update –

  • OnePlus 3
  • OnePlus 2

That’s the first point that does not yet include all manufacturers, but we continue to look to update this summary of smartphones that will receive Android 7.0 Nougat update.
